Johnson Kitchen
About This Project
This remodel focused on transforming a closed off kitchen into a brighter, more functional gathering space.
While the original footprint offered strong potential, the peninsula created a visual barrier that interrupted the flow between the kitchen and surrounding living areas. By removing the peninsula and reconfiguring the layout, we were able to create a more open and inviting environment while significantly increasing storage.
The existing corner pantry was replaced with full-height cabinetry, allowing for a substantial increase in usable storage and creating a cleaner, more cohesive look throughout the space. Removing the soffits further enhanced the sense of height and openness while maximizing cabinet capacity.
To bring personality into the design, a soft seafoam island was introduced as a focal point, complemented by a mosaic backsplash featuring subtle blue and green tones. Paired with bright cabinetry, layered textures, and improved lighting, the result is a kitchen that feels fresh, spacious, and designed for everyday living.
