Marmalade Heights
About This Project
Located in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, this short-term rental was designed to serve both vacationing families and extended-stay guests seeking a comfortable home base while exploring Northern Utah.
Rather than relying on expensive finishes or large scale renovations, the focus was creating a welcoming, cohesive experience through thoughtful furnishings, strategic color palettes, and practical amenities. Every design decision was made with durability, comfort, and guest experience in mind.
As both the owner and self-manager of the property, I oversaw every aspect of the guest experience. From space planning and furnishing selections to kitchen stocking, coffee bar amenities, local recommendations, and operational logistics. The goal was simple: create the kind of stay I would want for my own family.
This project reinforced a design philosophy I still use today: successful hospitality spaces aren't created by finishes alone. They are built through hundreds of intentional decisions that make guests feel comfortable, cared for, and at home.
Living Room
I chose this color pallet so I didn't feel like I was competing with the dark stained cabinets.
I based the whole color scheme around this rug. I love the way it turned out.
Guest Bedroom
I love the color story in this room. Black, white, green, and a warmer rug so it wasn't too stark.
Each short term rental needs a space for working remotely.
Master Bedroom
Love the black, blue, and browns in this room! These leather pillows are some of my go-to's.
And of course...blackout drapes that go to the ceiling and a TV.
Kitchen
This large art piece added so much to the space. The look made me so happy.
Brought over the orange from the living room to make the space cohesive.
Additional Amenities
I help clients pick the best amenities for their guests.
Just because a patio is small doesn't mean it can be neglected. Love the tan, black, and red.
